Artist's Comments

This is what I've been working on since August. I got my inspiration from a tea and teaware catalog that I'm fond of. I was flipping through it and they had this teapot that was orange, with thick tiger stripes painted on it. It stuck this idea in my head, and I had to illustrate it.
This is also my submission for the student art show here at school; and I think I'm going to have prints made as well.

I'm so happy. :3

(Note: I tried to upload my 800 dpi version of the image so that I could have prints for sale on DA, but I've been sitting here for 45 minutes and it never finished uploading, so decided to just upload the lower res image instead. I'll deal with the print issue later...)

Watercolors on Bristol, 14"x9".

I love the flow and movement of the tiger, as if he's practically leaping out of the tea pot. The folds in the table cloth and shading is nice as well. And that's a very interesting tea pot! The colors go very nicely with each other.
Overall, I like it a lot :)
